Hello, my name is Jennifer Smith.

People often worry about getting older and want to stay at home as long as possible.

Fife Health and Social Care Partnership have launched a new online self-assessment tool called Smart Life in Fife.

This website will enable people to access advice, services, recommendations, or simply purchase daily living solutions such as bathing and kitchen equipment or rails.

You can complete an assessment from the comfort of your own home, at a convenient time or ask a family member or friend to help you. You can take your time completing an assessment, save it and go back to it at your leisure.

Smart Life in Fife has been developed together with a company called ADL Smart Care and is based on extensive research carried out by Newcastle University and many allied health professionals working across the country.

All data on the system is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998) but does not cover third-party websites linked to it.

This new web-based system can help anyone who is having difficulties at home who may require equipment-based solutions or professional advice to help them manage these more effectively.

Smart Life in Fife allows you to select an area of the home where you're having difficulty and each person is guided through a simple assessment process to identify what solutions are best for them. These vital services can make everyday activities easier and enable people to live independently at home for longer. By using Smart Life in Fife, you can also identify your needs at an earlier stage.

To start your assessment go to www.smartlifeinfife.org to sign up and create an account.

Thank you for listening.
