Fife Forum provides information and advice on issues affecting adults and older people

Fife Forum is  an umbrella organisation that helps you to get involved in shaping the care services that you would find useful.

We also provide an advocacy service across Fife. This can help you by providing an independent representative to help you if you are not able to, or need support to participate in the decision making process. The service is for older people in care homes or community hospitals.

Hello, my name is Alison Wilson. I am a local area coordinator for older people's services in west Fife underneath the umbrella organisation Fife Forum. Fife Forum supports a number of projects throughout Fife. It represents the interests of older people, giving information and advice on older peoples' issues. It hosts advocacy services that assist people over 65 who are in a hospital or in a care setting, as well as user panels across Fife for people over the age of 70.

This allows the opportunity to influence the way services are planned and provided at local level. Additionally, the service provides local area coordination Fife-wide for adults under 65 and for older people over 65.

My job as a local area coordinator is to support older people to remain active and connected to their communities, to work in a personalised manner with the aim of empowering people to overcome the challenges of identifying services and resources which support them to live as independently as possible within their homes and communities.

To find out more about any of the free services provided by Fife Forum, or make a referral, simply call 01592 643 743 or complete the online referral on our website at www.fifeforum.org.uk

Once we have received a referral the local area coordinator will make arrangements for a home visit or suitable venue. This allows for conversations to take place discussing the personal choices and wishes and how to move forward with their chosen pathways.
